Can you say conspiracy?

I recently read about Milwaukee County Supervisors scamming a free trip to D.C. for President Obama's coronation, er, inauguration rather. They were supposedly going to meet with Rep. Moore. Now, the county board members should most certainly have their feet held to the fire over this none too transparent scam. I'm not so sure I can let Rep. Moore off the hook either though. As my representative to congress, doesn't she have an obligation to me, a county resident as well as a resident of her congressional district, to suggest a better timing for these meetings? I don't live in D.C., but I would have known, as have others for months, that being in D.C. at that time would be brutal. Traffic, inaugural events, security, lodging, transportation, everything basically. I would call on Rep. Moore to tell me why she wouldn't have just said "look, that's inauguration week. Travel and lodging prices are gonna kill ya, let alone how busy everyone down here will be. Why don't we hold off on these meeting a few weeks to let D.C. get back to normal". Her office also told an inquiring reporter "it's our policy to not disclose who we've given inauguration tickets to". Your job, your office, and your allotment of inauguration tickets belong to us. So too does the list of people you gave them to. What? Hello, you work for us Gwen! When "we the people" ask questions you have to answer. Is her office hiding the fact that they made tickets available to these county board members well in advance of their trip? I guess that would certainly blow a hole in their "it was just a coincidence" excuse. I believe Rep. Moore was absolutely in the know with exactly what the board members were trying to do. I would say she went so far as to conspire with them, simply by getting them tickets. When working men and women can't afford a plane ticket, $600.00 hotel rooms, and don't "know people" to get a ticket, why should my county board members be aided and abetted in their wrongdoings by my Congresswoman? Well, the plain truth is she probably didn't have anything better to do. Hell, in the four plus years she's been in congress, she's only been able to offer up 17 bills of her own. An astounding ZERO have even made it out of committee! That's probably because all she ever offers up are more handouts and freebie requests. Representing the district she does, I understand that's what the majority of her constituents want. What they need though, is a hand up, not out. Here's my personal favorite, HR#3599, Creating Access to Rides Act (to authorize the secretary of health and human services to make grants to improve access to dependable, affordable automobiles for low income families). A bill to give grants to people to buy cars? Isn't that just us who pay taxes buying cars for other people? I guess when you've been a single mother yourself, on welfare, and have never had a private sector job in your entire life, that's the only mentality you can bring to the table. More programs, more handouts. Born, raised, and now working in the system. Citizen legislator? I think not.
