Healthcare for All! Paid by the Few!

When our President was running around the country (on our dime) trying to sell his omnibus health plan, he came upon an interesting story in Ohio. Seems some woman wrote him a letter that stated, and I paraphrase, "it came down to my mortgage, or my health care. I chose my mortgage". She had previously been diagnosed with cancer, an insipid disease that touches us all. Just prior to our President's visit, it seems she relapsed and was unable to attend his rally as a show piece. This begs the question, where was she? The answer, back at the hospital for treatment! How could this be? She chose house payments over health insurance premiums. How could she possibly get any care? The dirty little secret is, The United States of America, with all it's health care and insurance warts, is still the prettiest and most accommodating system in the world. People don't get turned away. That's probably the number one reason we pay so much as it is, because we DO pay for the indigent, uninsured and under insured. Now we'll just pay more! I don't mind this system to a certain extent, that's what happens when you enter a pool. The healthier who pay premiums, but don't utilize the care, pick up the slack for the others. I just have a problem with being told I have to under penalty of law. I guess I'm just tired of seeing the incentive for success being sucked out of this country because of the entitlement mentality. Why work for it (anything), someone (the government) will take care of me. Health care, house payments, personal debt, whatever. I wonder if I can tell Bank of America that I deemed my house payment made last month?
